This little tidbit of knowledge may seem illogical. Making mistakes is part of pressing the limits and doing the job you are being paid to do. You will make mistakes. It should be expected. The best way to overcome these is to admit your mistakes, and move forward. I highly recommend showing your humanness. If you find that you were biting in your comments in a meeting, then apologize. If you misjudged someone, take them to lunch and ask them to forgive you. Openly admit your errors. You will find that this will gain the respect of the team of people that you work with. They will also be easier on you when you do lose your cool or make a mistake. They will be more apt to support you.
If you make a bad business decision, quickly admit your error and move in the correct direction. Bill Gates is on record saying that he will never do business over the internet. People make mistakes. The bigger mistake is not admitting your error and running in the correct direction as soon as you realize that you’ve made the error.
