Did you get a new job or a promotion? Plan a celebration with pomp and circumstance. Do something that you wouldn’t normally do. Take an afternoon off and go play golf or go to a salon. Take your extended family out for dinner. Buy that new whatever that you’ve been wanting to get. Establish a memorable event that you will remember for years to come. We seem to work very hard to achieve our goals, and then when the goal is met, we forget to celebrate. We forget to take the time to enjoy the arrival of one of our goals.
Celebrate with friends or family. When friends and/or family celebrate together, you form bonds that last a lifetime. Even very small successes can be celebrated with much ado. In your relationships, others will know about small successes in your life and you and your friends/family will develop a deep and caring attitude towards one another. You can make mementos or buy a small token to recognize even little victories. Print up your own award letter. Make a t-shirt. Buy yourself a crown. Do whatever it takes to anchor that event in your mind and your life.
Celebrating small successes creates a heightened sense of success and accomplishment. Surely if you can do that, then you can accomplish even more. This works with children as well. Learn to celebrate small and large successes and enjoy each little victory in life.
