There is a successful quality missing from most businesses today – the art of appreciation. It seems that we are caught up on deadlines and the hurried pace of work life and we forget to show appreciation for those around us.
I have seen employees summit much faster and attain greater heights when they conquer the art of appreciation. Those hard workers surrounding you enable, if not facilitate, your success.
Since it is little seen in businesses today, a little will go a long way. Write a thank you note to someone who helped you on a project. Buy a candy bar for the administrative assistant that helped you get an appointment with the CEO. Make a pointed effort to write the names of contributors on the front of your reports, with contributions from x,y and z.
It will say something about you and it will also become a key ingredient to your continued success.
