It’s an enigma. We hear that there are people that absolutely love their jobs and yet we don’t feel anywhere close to that description. When asked, many of you can’t describe the kind of job that you would love to do.
Finding a job you love will require a little research. Start by exploring your talents to discover activities that you are good at and enjoy doing. For a moment, you need to dream without boundaries. We usually stop ourselves and limit our dreams based on geographic location, education requirements or money. Stop limiting your thinking and just dream. Imagine a time where you took on an assignment or task that you enjoyed. Think about what comprised that project and the characteristics. Also focus on your life experiences.
Sometimes something that ‘moves you’ could be a passionate cause that you could fight for. Did your mother fight breast cancer, your uncle struggle with heart disease? Was your baby born prematurely? A cause that you feel strongly about could lead you to a company that you would enjoy working for.
When you get an idea of the activities that you enjoy, you will become more aware of positions that use those sets of skills. It is a matter of mindset. When you convince yourself that there is no other job and no other way, then there isn’t.
Find a job that you love to do and you never have to work a day in your life. Open your mind and create a mindset that says that you will be working a job you love within 5 years, then go make it happen.
